Process cooling system

Process Cooling System Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner for process cooling system procurement. We help plant buyers collect comparable factory quotations for a process cooling loop and its plant interfaces, not a standalone chiller keyword. Share simultaneous heat loads, supply and return temperatures, quantity and destination to request factory quotes. We do not claim factory ownership or brand-appointed reseller status.

Trial sequence

  1. Representative sample

Send a load schedule: each machine’s heat rejection, required supply temperature, return temperature and flow, plus which loads run at the same time. Fluid composition and outdoor design conditions belong on the same sheet. A single chiller tonnage without those temperatures is a guess, not a selection input. See load schedule versus tonnage guess.

  2. Demonstration

Ask the equipment supplier to return a selection at those stated conditions, with cooling capacity and pumping performance listed separately. A packaged outdoor rating that mixes ambient air and process-fluid temperature without labelling them is not comparable. Record connected load, three-phase supply and whether the trial uses the quoted pumps and reservoir.

  3. Acceptance record

Keep supply temperature, flow and pressure at representative simultaneous loads, plus restart and alarm response agreed with the plant team. Temperature-stability conditions and any restrictions at low load or extreme ambient belong in writing. A published model page is a reference document, not SAT language for your loop.

Included and separately quoted

Procurement scope for a process cooling system covers the process cooling loop and plant interfaces. Buyer and supplier responsibilities stay split: you own the duty data and destination; the equipment supplier confirms feasibility and commercial lines; this desk coordinates quote comparison. Do not treat a packaged-chiller catalogue line as a complete plant loop.

Base machine

  • State whether the RFQ is a refrigeration package only, or a cooling circuit that already includes reservoir, pumps and local controls. Cooling capacity in tons or kW is a source rating at named fluid and ambient conditions, not a complete distribution loop.
  • Standard tooling here means the evaporator, condenser, starter control panel and any tank or pump set the bidder lists on the machine line. Bypass, filtration, expansion provisions and plant-loop headers belong on named lines, not inside a silent “packaged” word.

Replacement versus new installation for a process cooling system

Existing process

Many plants already cool machines with city water, an older chiller or a tower loop that was never sized as a closed process circuit. Those routes hide different interfaces: header diameter, reservoir volume, pump curve, PLC start/stop and work envelope around the skid. A new refrigeration package dropped onto a worn plant loop does not inherit flow balance or temperature stability at every user.

State whether you want a drop-in refrigeration package for an existing secondary loop or a new route from process exchangers to outdoor rejection, and which pumps or reservoirs must be retained.

Which procurement scope is covered by process cooling system?

Defined specification

If simultaneous heat loads, supply/return temperatures, fluid, destination and pump/reservoir ownership are already written, send that package so factories quote the same loop boundary. We circulate the brief and flag missing commercial lines. Continue with an RFQ when the assumption set is stable.

Selection still open

If you only have a tonnage guess, use consultation to list what must be confirmed: load schedule, outdoor design, who supplies pumps and reservoir, and whether hydrogen duty needs a specialist interface package. Review the sourcing steps before ranking any total.

What simultaneous heat loads and supply/return temperatures define the selection?

Selection is defined by the loads that actually run together and by the process-fluid temperatures the machines need, not by adding unrelated peak ratings. Ambient conditions for outdoor rejection are a second data set. Ask each supplier to return cooling capacity and pumping performance at those conditions, with temperature-stability limits stated. Throughput here is heat rejected at named flow and temperatures, not a brochure tonnage with unnamed duty cycle.
